On The Brink
You were an anchor, before you ripped the chain apart, like an umbilical chord
You struck me through the heart
Once an asylum, now you’ve left me to decay, organic matter, sex trash
All I was to you from the first day.
I built myself from scattered pieces, you were my cornerstone, before I crumbled
A cyclone of dust deserted
Ribbed steel bars in cement, was all that remained, this you left, untainted
An injured girl, smoldering to rust.
